How Cat Training Works
Cats are more likely to repeat a behavior when something rewarding happens afterward.
That reward might be a small treat, a favorite toy, petting, or play. Start by finding something your cat truly enjoys.
Then reward the behavior you want as soon as it happens.
For example:
- Your cat sits.
- Say “yes” or use a clicker.
- Give your cat a reward.
The word or click acts as a marker. It tells your cat exactly which behavior earned the reward.
Keep sessions short and stop while your cat is still interested.
